Mining and mineral processing
Conveyor systems are where mines lose production. We manufacture and refurbish head, drive, take-up and snub pulleys to drawing, repair conveyor gearboxes and drive trains, supply idler frames, bearings and couplings, and carry out structural and mechanical maintenance on materials-handling plant. Our lifting-equipment team inspects and load-tests cranes, hoists and tackle to keep statutory records current. Every order runs under a quality control plan with material certification and inspection hold points.
Power generation
Umbusso is a registered Eskom vendor with completed work at Eskom power stations: conveyor pulley manufacture and supply, evaporative cooler refurbishment, conveyor gearbox repair, rubber lining of slurry plant pipework and mixers as appointed Main Contractor, building refurbishment, and surveillance infrastructure. Our ISO 3834-2 welding certification covers boiler, pressure piping and heat exchanger work, and our management systems are certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 — the gatekeeper requirements for generation-site tenders. We plan outage scopes, execute under permit-to-work, and hand over with a complete data book.
Petrochemical and heavy industry
Pressure piping, vessels, tanks and heat exchangers demand certified welding and traceable materials. Our ISO 3834-2 registration covers ASME VIII, ASME B31.1 and B31.3, EN 13445, EN 13480 and API 620, 650 and 653 work in carbon, low-alloy and stainless steels, with ASME IX procedures qualified for carbon, chrome-moly and stainless base metals. We fabricate in our workshops and install on site, and rubber-line pipes and tanks for corrosive and abrasive service.
Rail, infrastructure and construction
Structural steel fabrication and erection, mechanical installation, concrete paving and drainage, and building refurbishment under our CIDB 7CE and 7GB gradings — with a full construction safety file, appointed competent persons and fall-protection planning on every site. We are a registered supplier to state-owned enterprises through the Central Supplier Database and tender for Transnet and municipal infrastructure work.
