About the company
Umbusso Engineers (Pty) Ltd was established in 2015 and is based in Trichardt, Mpumalanga, with fabrication and machining workshops in Evander and Benoni. We are a 100% black-owned engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance company serving power generation, mining, petrochemical and heavy-industrial clients across Mpumalanga and beyond.
Our core work is mechanical: the manufacture and refurbishment of conveyor pulleys, gearboxes and drive components; fabrication and coded welding of pipework, pressure equipment and structural steel; rubber lining of pipes and tanks for slurry service; maintenance, repair and load testing of overhead cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; and the contract and project management that holds an outage scope together. We also install and maintain plant security and surveillance infrastructure, and carry out building and civil works under our CIDB general building and civil engineering gradings.
We hold CIDB Grade 7 in the mechanical engineering, civil engineering and general building classes, are registered on the Central Supplier Database and as an Eskom vendor, and operate integrated management systems certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, with welding quality certified to ISO 3834-2:2021.
The company is led by its founding director, Mr P.N. Msezane, supported by a contract management, quality, safety and welding coordination team. Our recent work includes conveyor pulleys for an Eskom power station, rubber lining of the slurry plant pipework and mixers at an Eskom power station as appointed Main Contractor, and surveillance infrastructure at an Eskom power station.
